How to learn the countries of Asia
Select the Asia region, then pick a mode that includes capitals. You locate each highlighted country first and name its capital second, so position and capital are learned together.
Break the continent into blocks rather than treating it as one mass. The Gulf states, the Central Asian republics, the Indian subcontinent, mainland Southeast Asia, and East Asia each form a natural study group.
Tips for Asian capitals and borders
The Central Asian republics are the most commonly confused group because their names and borders look similar. Anchor the region with Kazakhstan, by far the largest, then place Uzbekistan against it before adding the smaller neighbours.
Watch for countries whose capital is not the best-known city, such as Myanmar (Naypyidaw), Kazakhstan (Astana), and Turkey (Ankara). These are the questions most people lose.
